The wooden floors are in acceptable condition; the slate roof is sound in need of some retiling and the vaulted wood ceilings are very pretty. Under the roof it would be recommendable to install insulation. Other necessary refurbishments are for example a new furnished bathroom, a new fitted kitchen, new electricity wiring and sockets, some plumbing works, concrete flooring with tiles on the ground floor, paint and varnish works, some new doors and windows, etc.

The location is very peaceful in a rural village near the Miño River, in the south of the Lugo province. The climate in this area is a pleasant microclimate with mild temperatures and all kind of trees and vegetables. The views from the property are really nice overlooking the mountains and vineyards near the river. The location is in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, between Galicia’s main rivers Sil and Miño, with its oak and chestnut woods, typically terraced vineyards, crystal clear river streams and many monuments of Romanesque art, very common in the whole area. In the village you can still find parts of a medieval castle tower and an old monastery. Near the river are an ancient Celtic settlement (Castro) and a spectacular waterfall. The wines in the area are of excellent quality, made from quality Mencia (red) and Godello (white) grapes. At about 15 minutes by car away the main village of Ferreira de Panton offers all necessary amenities, such as supermarkets, a medical centre, banks, bakeries, a pharmacy, schools, shops, bars, restaurants, etc. At approx. 25 minutes by car away the historical town of Monforte de Lemos offers a hospital, supermarkets, hypermarkets, all kind of shops, bars, restaurants, a lively night life, etc. This town was an important centre during the middle ages and you still find many important monuments. Worth to visit are for example the huge 17th century building of “El Cardenal” (with paintings of El Greco in the local museum), the castle, palace and monastery of the count of Lemos (actually a Parador, by the state owned hotel), the convent of “Las Clarisas” with an important museum of sacred art, the medieval bridge over the river Cabe and the old Jewish quarter close to the castle.
